The SAB-E-SSI module converts Start/Stop, PWM or analog transducer inputs to an SSI format suitable for use by a motion controller or other device

Description

The SAB-E-SSI module converts Start/Stop, PWM or Analog transducer inputs to an SSI format suitable for use by a motion controller or other device. The conversion is implemented with a micro-controller and EPLD allowing a wide range of flexibility and speed. The module continually interrogates the input transducer and responds to the SSI clock signal with the latest conversion information Some setup items are controlled via the dip switches and a setup mode allows setting of parameters via the serial port. The module can also be ordered as a slave which accepts serial commands defining the SSI output value.

SAB-E-SSI-R measures one channel of Start/Stop or PWM sensor with up to 5 micron resolution. The software settable Gradient is stored in EEPROM.

SAB-E-SSI-A measures one channel of uni-polar or bipolar voltage input, +/- 10V or 0 to 10V using a 16 Bit A/D converter and multiple ranges. The software settable Scale is stored in EEPROM.
